THE GLOBAL SITUATION
The English language has rapidly become a valuable asset in today's global marketplace. More than 1.5 billion English language learners (see chart at the right) are proof that the language is needed to succeed in this world.
Learning foreign languages is routine throughout Europe. This is especially true in Poland, where learning more than one foreign language in compulsory in the public schools. The table below illustrates that Polish students begin learning their first foreign language at 7 years of age and a second language at age 13!
Imagine possessing a skill that makes you a ready-made cross-cultural missionary without needing to learn a foreign language. Yes, the irony is amazing, isn't it! Speaking English is a gift that native speakers can give in the name of Jesus to countless non-speakers around the world. Conversational English language camps has been a popular and effective way to reach thousands of Polish youths with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
